The Boston Bruins and general manager Don Sweeney struck out during free agency when trying to land secondary scoring.

Sweeney will now have to turn to the trade market where nothing comes cheap and usually means giving up some quality prospects or picks like we saw in the Rick Nash trade.

The Bruins need somebody who's going to make a difference game in and game out and NBC Sports Boston listed six possible targets:

Jeff Skinner, Carolina Hurricanes: The Hurricanes sniper has been placed on the trade block since end of season but has yet to change address. The 26 year old though is in the final year of his contract.

Artemi Panarin, Columbus Blue Jackets: Panarin, like Skinner is 26 and in the final year of his contract. He's already told the Blue Jackets he has no interest in re-signing. The sniper has put up seasons of 30,31 and 27 goals the last three years and would definitely bring the impact the B's are looking for.

Wayne Simmonds, Philadelphia Flyers: One of the few true power forwards left in the game, Simmonds is a force on the power play. Unfortunately he battled a grocery list of injuries last year, however he was still able to put up 24 goals. Like Skinner and Panarin, he's in the final year of his contract.

Milan Lucic, Edmonton Oilers: After putting up 23 goals and 50 points during his first season in Edmonton, the 30 year old Lucic basically fell off the face of the earth last season and only put up 10 goals. Many claim the game has passed him by and he's too slow to keep up, one bad season doesn't make a career and were sure he has more to give. Lucic's contract could be the problem though and Oilers would likely have to retain salary.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Edmonton Oilers: Despite repeated denial by Oilers GM Peter Chiarelli, Nugent-Hopkins sits atop many trade bait lists. He's only 25 years old and could definitely help the Bruins, however with the constant denial by Chiarelli, it would probably cost an arm and a leg to land him.

Jason Zucker, Minnesota Wild: The 26 year old is currently a restricted free agent without a contract. He put up 33 goals last year and has 97 in 330 career NHL games.

Bobby Ryan, Ottawa Senators: We don't agree with Joe Haggerty on this one and don't have anything positive to input here.

Who from this list would you like to see the Bruins try and land?
