The Boston Bruins won't as challenged by the flat cap next year as much as some other teams.
Instead they'll be challenged by a combination of the flat cap and trying to keep defenseman Torey Krug around.
That's why it's more than likely we see the Boston Bruins make a move or two as they try and keep Krug around.
Of course Krug's demands might be too high for the Bruins and the defenseman has admitted negotiations haven't even started.
If the Bruins do keep Krug around, Rory Boylen of Sportsnet believes Nick Ritchie could be the odd man out.
Ritchie will be RFA during the summer of 2022 while Tuukka Rask, Jaroslav Halak, Brandon Carlo and Ondrej Kase will also need new contracts that summer.
Could be Ritchie be gone as soon as he came?
His performance during the Bruins' playoff run will likely determine his future.
