It's rare that a 37 year old can get away with pretending to be a 79 year old, but one guy almost got away with it.
Jeffrey Jacobs of Connecticut was charged with criminal impersonation after running a little scam.
Police state that Jacobs was lying about his identity to a tree service company after he found out the company's owner was a big Bruins fan (apparently a bandwagon one if he couldn't tell the difference). A tree fell on Jacobs' house and got the company to come out in the middle of the storm and billed the $5100 job to Jeremy Jacobs, the Bruins owner.
It's not the first time that Jacobs tried to use Jeremy Jacobs' name, police report he's also tried to do it to get out of a traffic ticket, telling the officer he was the Bruins' owner.
Jacobs is currently out on bond and has a court date July 30th.
