Really tough blow for the Providence Bruins on Monday morning.

The baby Bruins were smashing through the AHL competition before the AHL season was paused.

Providence was one of the best teams in the AHL and were scorching hot 12-0-1 in their last 13 games sitting on top of the Central Division.

Unfortunately it's all over.

The AHL officially canceled their season on Monday morning because of the coronavirus.

"The AHL Board of Governors has voted to cancel the remainder of the 2019-20 AHL regular season and the 2020 Calder Cup Playoffs due to the ongoing COVID-19 public health crisis."

This will likely help the NHL and their chances of continuing the season as it will make more players available to finish the 2019-20 season.
