Boston Bruins general manager Don Sweeney mentioned the other day it was highly unlikely that Anton Khudobin would be back.

That put the Bruins in a tough spot because Jonathan Bernier, Cam Ward and Carter Hutton had already agreed to new teams.

The Bruins needed a veteran goalie and they found it.

According to multiple sources the Boston Bruins will sign Jaroslav Halak to a two year contract once free agency officially opens up later today.

Financial details of the contract haven't leaked yet, but they should be out soon.

Halak had a controversial ending to his time in New York as he bounced between the AHL and NHL, but he stayed put in the NHL last year but still struggled with a 3.19 goals against average and .908 save percentage.

Do you think Halak will be better than Khudobin?
