The Boston Bruins and general manager Don Sweeney were trying to hammer out a last minute trade for Oliver Ekman-Larsson.
Boston and Vancouver were the only two teams that Ekman-Larsson is willing to accept a trade to.
Right now it seems Vancouver is making a serious last minute push for OEL so Sweeney is looking somewhere else.
To bring back his own defenseman.
According to NHL insider Pierre LeBrun, Sweeney has opened up contract talks with Torey Krug to try and get a deal done before he starts talking to other teams.
