The Boston Bruins had a really strong regular season and that was in part thanks to their coaching staff.

Head coach Bruce Cassidy has been rewarded for the successful season.

The NHL announced that Cassidy has won the Jack Adams award tonight for top coach in the league.

I can’t thank my wife Julie and the kids enough for all their unconditional love and support for all the ups and downs that this profession brings,” Cassidy said. “I want to thank Mr. Jacobs, Charlie, Cam and Don for allowing me to lead such a storied Original Six franchise. To the entire coaching staff, hockey operations department, the guys that are in the trenches every day, appreciate everything you do for the team.

“And obviously the players, they’re the ones that get it done on the ice. It’s been an honour and a privilege to work with them every day.”

Cassidy is the fourth coach in team history to win the award.
