The Boston Bruins are doing quite the amount of shopping this offseason and a new backup goalie is on the list.

When the season ended, both Anton Khudobin and Don Sweeney sounded like they had hoped they could work something out to keep Khudobin in Boston.

Then vice president Cam Neely stated the Bruins will be looking for a backup goalie.

As it seems, it looks like Khudobin won't be back.

Fluto Shinzawa of The Athletic caught up with Sweeney and asked him about the chances of signing Khudobin and according to Shinzawa, it doesn't sound like it's going to happen.

That defintely puts the Bruins in an awkward spot as it seems that Cam Ward, Carter Hutton and Jonathan Bernier have all made commitments to new teams during the free agency talking period.

The other options aren't that pretty as some of the remaining free agent backups include Jaroslav Halak, Michael Leighton, Kari Lehtonen, Chad Johnson and Ondrej Pavelec.

Do you think it's a mistake not keeping Khudobin around?
