Anton Khudobin has had a great start to the 2017-18 season as he has still yet to lose in regulation during his seven starts. He has posted a better goals-against average and much higher save percentage than starter Tuuka Rask in just four fewer games.
Has Khudobin’s play caused a goalie controversy in Boston? After starting the last two victories at Los Angeles and San Jose, head coach Bruce Cassidy did not rule out starting Khudobin for a third straight game in New Jersey on Wednesday night. While he would not commit to either goaltender, he did admit that his backup is “riding a hot hand.”
Tuukka Rask was asked about the goaltending situation following today’s optional skate at the Warrior Ice Arena.
“(Khudobin) has played really well in all the games he’s played,” Rask said, per Joe Haggerty of NBC Sports Boston. “I have no problem with him (starting 2 in a row). If I was a coach I’d have done the same thing (in San Jose).”
Meanwhile, Khudobin is saying all the right things and is ready to play when he is called upon.

We will probably get a better idea of who the starter will be at Tuesday’s practice. If you were Bruce Cassidy, which goaltender would you be starting in New Jersey?
