The Boston Bruins are running out of time to sign restricted free agent Ryan Spooner as both sides are set to meet with an arbitration on Wednesday.

The likelihood that the two sides come to agreement before the hearing does not seem very good after a recent report from Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.  The respected hockey insider says that Spooner is asking for $3.85 million per season while Don Sweeney and the Bruins are countering with $2 million per season.

Ryan Spooner -- BOS offer: $2M. Player ask: $3.85M

Spooner finished the 2016-17 season sixth on the team in scoring with 39 points in 74 games.  He has produced 26 goals and 88 points in 158 games over the past two seasons.  He earned $950,000 in each of those two seasons, so the Bruins are willing to more than double his salary.

Do you think Ryan Spooner is worth the nearly $4 million per season he is asking for? What kind of deal would you give him?
