While the Boston Bruins postseason run came to an early end this spring, the Providence Bruins season will continue for at least four more games.  The P-Bruins advanced to the AHL Eastern Conference on Wednesday night after their 4-2 Game 7 victory over the Hershey Bears.

Jordan Szwarz started the scoring with the first of his two Game 7 goals at 6:50 of the first period.  The Bears had a quick response as Riley Barbered answered with a game-tying goal just over two minutes later.

Szwarz struck again at 5:41 of the second period to break the tie and Wayne Simpson scored the eventual game winning goal just under seven minutes later.  Chandler Stephenson cut the lead to 3-2 before the second intermission.

The scored remained 3-2 until Jake DeBrusk’s empty net goal in the final minute iced the game and the series.

The Bruins will have home ice advantave in the Eastern Conference Finals versus the Syracuse Crunch, the farm team for the Tampa Bay Lightning.
