Mark Burke -

The 2016 World Junior Championships kicked off today over in Finland with Sweden taking on Switzerland, and Bruins 2015 second-round pick Jakob Forsbacka-Karlsson scored the first goal of the tournament in spectacular fashion.

The 19-year-old forward swipes the puck in the neutral zone and takes a wide path towards goal before cutting back across the crease and tucking the score into the net. The burst of speed on JFK’s part was something else, and the ability to move that fast, control the puck and cut back across the grain with the only intention of scoring is something else.

The goal was Sweden’s sixth of the day, and they currently own a 7-2 lead on Switzerland midway through the third period.
